Murdered schoolboy Alex Mulamba was a member of a street gang
Tom Kelly:
Revelations that the 15-year-old was a member of a notorious street gang shocked his family and increased fears about the growing number of British teenagers inspired by American rap music that glamorises violence and weapons.
Alex was stabbed to death in Lambeth, South London, on Thursday night as he returned from a night out celebrating the end of his GCSE exams. His father released footage captured on a mobile phone showing his son's final moments in a hospital bed to warn other youngsters not to carry knives.
But devout Christian Kamondo Mulamba, 48, was not aware that his son was a member of the South London 'Man Dem' or 'm.a.d boys' gang, which has its own website where members taunt rivals.
Mr Mulamba, who moved his family to Britain from Zaire in 1991 to escape violence in the African country, said his son was a quiet boy who planned to go to college to train as an electrical engineer in September.

I dont know who wrote that message but that is disrespectful beyond words. It has nothing to do with where thenlack people are coming from and no one is underclass here. The problem is this country and the government. Its people like you who tarnish black people with a bad name and give us a reason to act like this. If we were given the same help and chances that everyone else was given in life then children wouldn't beleive that this is the way to be.
Thats because no one would expect to see white people as much as to see black become gangmembers or comitt crimes.
It may sound strange, but if someone is allways expected to do something eventually they will. Not just because they want to or because "they're like that", but because of the unspoken pressure that is put on him.
It is allways easier to go with the flow. It is allways harder to say no.
Those things will never change.
I know some of these guys and the positive thing however is that many of the members in that gang(including the one posing with a shotgun) have all turned into fully blown legit christians and they have completely turned their backs on crime and gang life
The boy posing with a shotgun is a proper christian, fully legit married man and he was at Prince Harry's royal wedding as an invited guest. Funny how life can change, never write off anyone, actually get close and offer support, change is possible but if we keep condemning these boys, they'll just continue killing each other.
