Immigrant child molester on the run caught after kebab shop stabbing in Britain

Thisislocallondon:

AN illegal immigrant, rapist and child molester went into hiding in a Hounslow kebab shop - but got caught when he stabbed a fellow worker who criticised his cooking.

Amrik Singh, 49, was arrested for molesting a 12-year-old girl in Colchester last October, but he jumped bail and was not heard of again until January, when he stabbed a fellow worker in the stomach in a Hounslow kebab shop.

At Isleworth Crown Court on Wednesday, Singh, of Orchard Close, Southall, admitted sexually touching a child on October 17 last year and wounding his colleague on January 28.

Prosecutor John Hulme told the court the young girl was walking home in Colchester when he asked her for directions. He offered her money for a kiss, and when she declined, he grabbed her and touched her indecently through her clothes.

Singh was arrested and bailed, but failed to turn up on the appointed date, said counsel. But in January he was working at a kebab shop in Hounslow High Street when he got into an argument with another employee, who said he could not cook naan bread properly.

"The defendant was holding a knife and stabbed him in the stomach," said Mr Hulme. The puncture wound penetrated as far as the muscle and the victim was taken to hospital.

Singh was arrested when he went to the hospital to find out the state of his victim.

He had a list of previous convictions including one at the Old Bailey in 1986 for three charges of rape, indecent assault and assault causing actual bodily harm. He was jailed for a total of ten years at the end of which he was deported back to India.

His counsel, Orla Daly, said the balding, grey bearded and overweight defendant was full of regret for his behaviour towards the child.

He never meant to hurt his colleague at the kebab shop. He jabbed with the knife, not meaning to stab the victim and he was now full of remorse, she said.

Jailing him for two years and three months, Judge Richard McGregor-Johnson said they were "very serious" offences and that he could not ignore his previous record. He said that after serving his sentence his future would be in the hands of immigration officials.

"He had a list of previous convictions"

How long has be been in Britain illegally? Was his status discovered as a result of these previous "convictions"? If so, why wasn't he deported? If not, why not?

"Jailing him for two years and three months"

So now British taxpayers have to pay to incarerate him.

Pathetic.
