No Catholic judges need apply

Some guy named Christopher D. Morris writes in the Boston Globe that he's come up with the perfect way to ensure Roe v. Wade never gets overturned. And it's really simple, too. All we have to do is pass a federal law that requires Federal Judges who are Catholics to recuse themselves from any case that uses Roe v. Wade as a precedent. Oh, but let's not just limit it to the mackerel-snappers, he continues. No, anyone who has religious feelings about abortion should be required to recuse themselves. But, really, it's the papists who are the biggest problem.

I wonder how Mr. Morris would feel about a law that required black, Hispanic, Jewish and gay judges to recuse themselves from hate crime cases? Or how about a law that would require female judges to recuse themselves from sexual discrimination cases?
