Suge Knight in intensive care after surgery

Suge Knight who was shot in the VIP area of the posh Shore Club at a bash hosted by Grammy-winning hip hop artist Kanye West, early Sunday morning underwent surgery on Sunday afternoon in Miami to repair the damage from the bullet.

Knight-Ridder is citing "media reports from Miami" that say Knight was hospitalized in intensive care after surgery to remove a bullet from his leg and repair a fractured bone. There was no more definitive word on his condition.

Police say the gunman suspected as being the trigger man that shot the rap mogul remains at large Sunday afternoon, according to the AP.

"Not everyone has been cooperating with us," Miami Beach Police spokesman Bobby Hernandez said. "We don't have any physical description. We don't know how many subjects were involved, which is mind boggling, with all those people around."

A police report cited earlier by the AP wire service described the shooter only as a "black male wearing a pink shirt."
