Exiled radical Islamic cleric Omar Bakri has predicted that Paris-style riots could spread to Britain if proposed new terror laws are implemented
LIFE STYLE EXTRA:
The firebrand, who fled Britain before he was booted out, warned disaffected Muslim youths in the UK could be pushed into another 7/7 or trigger widespread city rioting if they continued to be marginalised.
Speaking from his new bolthole in Lebanon, the preacher of hate said both Tony Blair and the British public had a responsibility to uphold human rights.
And he arrogantly claimed that Britain is "missing" him already.
Bakri, 47, said: "Ninety days is not the right direction and it shows how much decline there has been in Britain for human rights since July.
"I'm afraid it will happen again and again unless they [the Government] listen. Ninety days will create more hatred and more isolation, so more people will go underground. There could be more acts of terrorism and maybe even an uprising like in France."
He added: "Too much pressure became a revolution in France. This could spread to Britain unless they stop pressuring people. They have said enough is enough. You can't be labelled extremists without this happening. People become angry.
"Britain should take lessons and not put pressure on the Muslim community. What happened in Birmingham could spread over the UK."
He added: "White people in the UK should say 'No, not in our name: stop it!'"
Bakri fled to Beirut from London in August, fearing he would be arrested during the Government's crackdown on so-called preachers of hate in the wake of the July 7 terror attacks in the capital.
However Home Secretary Charles Clarke banned Bakri's return.
He hoped to set up a "religious school" in Lebanon, but claims the UK have pressurised the authorities there to veto any attempt to work.
Bakri added: "They want to isolate me from the whole world, but 'c'est la vie!' I hope I can return to visit my family.
"I have funds being sent to me thanks to my brothers and sisters in the Muslim community. It doesn't matter how much they have sent, it's the sentiment and values that people care about you.
"You can't ignore how much I have given to the Muslim community over 20 years. I did my best and people appreciate that."
He continued: "I'm not able to get a job in Lebanon, I'm rejected. Whenever I try to start a business the authorities close it down because the British Government make a noise, but what can I do?"
The cleric said he was the only person who could save the Muslim youth, adding: "I think Britain is missing me already. Maybe I have ideas you don't like, but multi-cultural society needs to have extremes like me. I have to laugh. Ninety days is a stupid law and I laugh at the British foreign policy."
He continued: "We are on the ground of the youth and we know how they feel. Who else can hold the youth back? Tony Blair is not a chief. Who can hold back the Muslim youth except people like me who can cool the problem. We are the solution, not the problem."
Four of Bakri's followers have been expelled from Lebanon for trying to help their leader set up a religious school. They are also allegedly members of his banned al-Ghuraba group.
Anjem Choudray, Bakri's righthand man, blamed the Foreign Office for orchestrating their deportation, but vowed to return to Beirut on Saturday.
Back in Britain today, he said: "I do not fear going back, but I think it's going to be a test. They have already deported me once. They used the excuse of my visa, which was rubbish because it was valid. I have my doubts I will be let back in. The Lebanese have their own agenda which is being dictated by the British."
Lawyer Mr Choudary, 38, said the school was designed to teach British residents Arabic and the courses would last up to six months. He also said Bakri's family may challenge his banning order in the courts.
He added: "Sheikh Omar Bakri Mohammed is always very vocal and wherever he is, he won't stop his call to Islam and exposing the oppressive regimes around the world."
