The prophet Mohammed cartoon controversy continues

Copenhagen Post:

A large group of prominent former Danish ambassadors have broken with traditions of silent and discreet diplomacy, openly criticising the government's decision not to meet with ambassadors from Muslim countries after daily newspaper Jyllands-Posten printed caricatures of the prophet Mohammed last September.

Although the newspaper claimed the drawings were intended to test the limits of free speech in the face of growing fears that radical Islamists could limit freedom of expression, the Muslim ambassadors argued that the drawings represented a direct attack on their religion.

The prime minister, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, rejected their request for a meeting, stating that freedom of the press prevented the Danish government from intervening, a decision the Danish ambassadors criticised in a letter to the editor of national daily Politiken.

'It would have suited democracy in Denmark if the prime minister had met the request for a meeting that was put forth by eleven foreign ambassadors from Muslim countries,' wrote the 22 former top diplomats, of whom a considerable number had done service in Muslim countries.

'It would have been reasonable if the government had at least heard the Muslim ambassadors,' said Niels Ersbøll, Denmark's former ambassador to the EU, who felt that the rejection of a meeting broke with a long historical tradition. 'You could have done that without in any way demonstrating sympathy for so-called spokesman's threats.'

The ambassadors said Denmark had become 'a witness to a sharpening of tone, which can only be regarded as persecution of the minority that consists of Muslim citizens'.

The prime minister had no comments to the ambassadors' criticism, but Troels Lund Poulsen, the Liberal Party's spokesman on foreign affairs called their letter 'very misguided and sad'.

'They are willing to compromise the freedom of expression by taking a moral stand. The Muslim ambassadors wanted a dialogue with Rasmussen in order to stop the drawings. It doesn't serve any purpose to enter a dialogue with people who want to stop the democratic process. Rasmussen did the only right thing,' Poulsen said.

and do you have any evidence for what you are saying stuka???
you know, the freedom of a person stops when the one of others begin, and I think that you have never heart about this principle, and that you don't make difference betwin diffamation and freedom in opinion.. more over, every body has the freedom to chose his religion, so at least you should respect other people, and their feelings.
I don't know your religion, and I won't tell you anything about it because, we muslims, we respect all people and all differences, and if you don't believe me just read the coran and you will see that.
Finally, I just wanted to tell you that I am really proud of my name and of my prophet.

stuka
the top of stupidity is answering a question without understanding it.

unfortunately, your stupidity exceeded the stupidity limits because you are attacking a prophit or say a regular person without understanding what he called for.

who called for peace ,who collected money from rich people to give boors, ,who refused racism and said no difference between white or black people , who called for worship of one god ( the one who made every one) deserves to be called the greatest
human being ever been.

I hope u got it because if you didn't, for sure you will be Mr.rabid dog

Stuka,
It is easy to talk. It is easy to sit back, relax and imagine a charachter and start to talk about it. Unfotunately You talk about well-known person. No body even beleive you. If someone said what you wrote but changed the name to Moses (PBUH) can you believe him?
Please don't let this go away. Search for the truth. It is shame on you to say and insist to lie. I am not calling you for Islam but for you to know The TRUTH.
NONE BUT THE TRUTH

Smiles

priophit Mohamed(PBUH) is the greatest creature ever. God chose him to be the messanger for Islam for his good morals. there is no word in the holy Quraan or in hadis sharif that calls for racisim or anti feminism. I am a muslim PhD student in USA. I never felt that took away my rights as a human or as a female. Prophit Mohamed was the first to call for the good treatmen of wives and the eequlity of beings. those who say that he is a rapist or a lustful peroson should know at what age did Mohamed marry and for what reasons and that would be enough to shut them up. We don't say anything regarding your belief in the triology of God , or in your confession beliefs, everyone should believe un whatever his mind and his heart direct him to and we'll meet on the day of judgement and only God will say His Word. Just forget about us and find something else to busy yourselves with. As for Islam and Quraan, God promised us that He will protect them against His enemies.Hasbia Allah WEne3ma Alwakeel

He is the best in humankind and whoever follow him would lead to zannath and whoever goes away from teaching would land upto hell, if allah wishes. so my dear friend to understand someones religion you need to go through towhat you are believing and try to find out the similarities and try to act on it. One who does not understand his or her religion will never understand other religion.
So never say a word against anybody or any religion it would land you in trouble rather respect whoever is and find urself in peace and happiness
