A rural region of Norway is planning to buy some camels to help refugees living there feel at home

IOL:

"Camels have been part of everyday life for many of our refugees," Wenche Irene Stenseth, in charge of integrating refugees in Loeten, south-eastern Norway, said on Tuesday.

"Many have lived as nomads, (a life in which) the camel plays a central role."

it is hoped that the camels, which will produce milk, meat and leather, will help create jobs for refugees who "only want to work and pay taxes", Stenseth said.

Local tourism would also benefit from the initiative.

Loeten is planning to seek state financial aid to buy about 20 camels.

"only want to work and pay taxes"

What an idiot. For the record, I think very few people want to pay taxes.

But clearly idiocy in Norway extends a lot further than that.

"in charge of integrating refugees"

And BTW, why in the hell do you want to 'integrate' refugees? If they are truly refugees, then presumably you want them to go back home when the situation there allows it, right? And if when that time comes they are 'integrated', then the vast majority of them won't want to go -- this is proved every day in Europe. And then you have to resort to forced removal, which is very ugly, and is often so long delayed by legal challenges that in the end people are allowed to stay.
