Demonstrators in India's Uttar Pradesh state have protested at the killing of a woman who objected to a group of men taunting her daughter-in-law

BBC News:

About 500 people marched in Lucknow demanding punishment for the killers of Mehar Bhargav, a leading lawyer.

She died in hospital on Saturday, a month after she was shot when she took exception to allegedly lewd remarks.

The killing has sparked public outrage. Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav offered condolences earlier on Monday.

He said his government would take strict action against Ms Bhargav's killers.
