A San Marcos man has been indicted for keeping child pornography on his iPod

KVUE-TV:

Ron James Guzman

Ron James Guzman, 38, was indicted Wednesday in Hays County on nine counts of possession of child pornography, according to a release from the Texas attorney general's office.

Investigators with the Texas Attorney General's Cyber Crimes Unit got a tip last year from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that Guzman was posting sexually explicit photos online.

Investigators searched Guzman's home in April, and after months of forensic investigation they found photos and video of child pornography on his iPod. He was arrested January 11.

“Innovative technology has made electronic recordings and photographs more portable and accessible,” Attorney General Greg Abbott said. “Unfortunately, sexual predators are taking advantage of these new developments in order to exploit children. Collecting and distributing child pornography is a crime.”

Guzman remains in the Hays County jail.

Cyber crimes investigators said this is the first time they have caught a suspect keeping child porn on an iPod.

If convicted, he could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison and fined $10,000.

What does this have to do with anything? Do you think a Hispanic man is more likely to store porn on his iPod than a white guy? Have you gone insane?

It is interesting how so many Hispanics get involved in sex-related crimes, particularly ones involving children.
