Blacks die in fires at more than twice the rate of whites

WCHS-TV8:

From 1999 through 2003, nearly 49-hundred blacks died from fire nationally. That's a rate of two-point-63 deaths per 100-thousand people. By contrast, the rate for the 13-thousand-seven hundred whites who died during the same time was one-point-18 per 100-thousand.

Blacks more likely to die in fire than other groups, says CDC
