A failed asylum-seeker who has been jailed three times for petty crimes has escaped deportation from Britain because China refuses to have him back

Sunday Mirror:

A Crown Court judge has allowed Ling Cheng, 34, to stay in Britain indefinitely. Ling was ordered to leave the country by magistrates in Redhill, Surrey, eight months ago when they jailed him for selling pirate DVDs.

But on a third similar charge in Guildford, Surrey, Ling was jailed for six months - and advised to get a job on his release. Ling has a wife and children in China.
