Website encouraged students to attack white females, especially ones with blond hair

Associated Press:

Students at Newhall's Hart High School are returning to class Wednesday, after fears of violence kept hundreds home Tuesday.

About half of the school's 2,700 students reacted to messages that turned up Monday on the MySpace Web site calling Tuesday "bring your weapons to school day."

The messages named the L.A. sheriff's deputy assigned to the school as a target. It also encouraged readers to attack white female students, especially ones with blond hair.

The message followed several instances of violence at the school last week, much of it with alleged racial overtones.

School officials reported a fight between an African American student and one of Middle Eastern descent on Thursday.

On Friday, the school went on lockdown after fights broke out along racial lines in the schools quad area.
