India-born Pepsi president likens U.S. to middle finger

WorldNetDaily:

PepsiCo president Indra Nooyi

Food giant PepsiCo is now fizzing in damage-control mode after the company's president likened the U.S. to a middle finger.

The remarks by Indra Nooyi, an India-born woman who also serves as PepsiCo's chief financial officer, came during a speech Sunday to graduates at Columbia Business School in New York, some of whom took offense as an anti-American attack.

Honestly, just why is this news? If you wanted to prove that Indians (like all non-whites) are some sort of fifth column with absolutely no allegiance to the states in which they live, you could do a lot better than this Indra Nooyi person...all she did was liken the U.S to the middle finger; that's relatively tame compared to the sort of crap some native-born white men (such as Michael Moore) are known to spout.

"Honestly, just why is this news?"

Dunno, but I learned who this woman is, and as usual I am prompted to ask: Just how did she come to head Pepsi? I mean, are we supposed to believe that of all the possible candidates, an "India-born" woman was the most qualified person for this job? Or was Pepsi more interested in appearing to be progressive, and so decided to hire not only a woman buy a 'woman of color' for the top position. I say position and not job because it isn't a real job, meaning the actual demands of work as most of us know it are few. And one of the rather simple requirements of the position -- not saying the wrong thing at the wrong time -- she was unable to meet.

I am reminded of Carly Fiorina, although there are enough differences there too.

Still if you read her remarks it is not apparent why this became such a HUGE deal.
