The grieving brother of Edmonton's latest homicide victim arrived in town to look after the affairs of his younger sibling

Ajay Bhardwaj:

Omar Mohamed Abdalla's brother, who flew in from Ottawa, said he didn't want to say much about the 19-year-old man's death.

"Of course we are devastated. That's a given," said Abdalla's older brother, who wouldn't give his name.

Abdalla was shot to death in his apartment near 115 Street and 108 Avenue Sunday night.

His funeral is set for this weekend.

Neighbours said they heard arguing Sunday night coming from Suite 9, where Abdalla lived. They heard men in the suite cursing and the sounds of struggling , followed by up to four gunshots.

Witnesses told police they saw three black men fleeing the scene.

Cops continue to search for the three men.

Abdalla's older brother met with police yesterday, who told him to say little about the case, for fear of jeopardizing the investigation.

He did say Abdalla had been working in an Islamic butcher shop in Edmonton.

Abdalla had been on a trip with family to his native Somalia, but when they returned to Canada, the teen decided to come to Edmonton while the rest of the family chose to stay in Ottawa, his brother said.

Abdalla's uncle flew in from Vancouver for the funeral.
