State police have arrested an out-of-state trucker in the abduction and rape of an Ashford woman

WTNH:

Fifty-year-old Thomas Hooks of Pensacola, Florida had been charged with kidnapping, sexual assault and use of a firearm.

He's being held on $1 million bond and is due in Danielson Superior Court on February 21st.

The woman told police she had stopped to help a stranded trucker on the exit 72 off-ramp on February 6th when she was abducted by the man, raped and left tied to a tree.

The 30-year-old woman was able to flag down another motorist after freeing herself.
