Houston police need the public's help identifying a man suspected of sexually assaulting at least four women across the Houston area

Investigators with the Houston Police Department's Sex Crimes Unit released two sketches of the victims' attacker.

Police said the rapist targets Hispanic women who live in apartment complexes by knocking on doors and asking to borrow a pen.

"He forces his way into the apartment. He produces a pistol and threatens the victims. In some of the cases, he's grabbed them by their hair, pulled them and forced them into the bedrooms, where he sexually assaults them," HPD Detective Jimmy De Los Santos said.

Investigators said the man typically locks the woman in a bathroom or closet so he can get away.

Police said in two of the incidents, the woman's children were at home during the assault.

One of the assaults happened in the 16000 block of Cotillion in north Houston at about 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 15, 2005. Another assault occurred in the 5700 block of Rampart in southwest Houston at about 1:10 p.m. on Feb. 20. The other two attacks happened in east Houston.

Officers believe the man is mobile and has easy access to get around the city because of the distances between where the assaults took place.

Anyone with information should call the Houston Police Department's Sex Crimes Unit at (713) 308-1180 or Crime Stoppers at (713) 222-TIPS.
