A South African soccer player with the Delaware Dynasty was charged by Newark Police with sexually assaulting two University of Delaware students
Terri Sanginiti:
Vuyisani “Vista” Nyandeni, 19, of Capetown, was committed to Young Correctional Institution on charges of second-degree rape and third-degree unlawful sexual contact. He is being held in lieu of $11,000 bail.
Police said a 19-year-old university student was treated at Christiana Hospital Sunday after she reported she was assaulted sexually by the suspect at her home in the first block of Continental Ave.
A second victim later came forward alleging that Nyandeni followed her and a friend to a home in the first block of Kershaw Street and attempted to have unwanted sexual contact with her, Newark police spokesman Lt. Thomas LeMin said.
LeMin said the suspect, who was arrested at the Newark home of a local family, is in this country for academic and athletic pursuits.
