France is the primary target of Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat, a North African organization that has become an ally of Al Qaeda

Bloomberg News:

France faces an "alarming" terrorist threat ahead of the presidential election this year, said Jean-Louis Bruguiere, the country's leading anti-terrorist investigator.

France is the primary target of Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat, a North African organization that has become an ally of Al Qaeda in recent years, he said.

"It's a difficult situation and the danger has reached a high level," Mr. Bruguiere said in an interview in New York. "It's alarming, but we are mobilized."

Al Qaeda's no. 2, Ayman al-Zawahiri, named France among a list of targets in a videotaped message posted September 10 on a Web site used by the group.

I know it's an old joke, and a bit trite, but - the War on Terror can't really be seen as a proper war yet....because France hasn't surrendered!
The French are only reaping what they sowed over 40 years. While I deplore the ravaging of their nation by Muslim hordes, I can't but note....they are complicit in their own downfall.
It remains to be seen - are any countries learning from the French error?
If I was an American, for example, I'd be closing your borders..... and WHAT WAS all that fuss about "racial profiling", if not plain common sense???
