England: A 10-year-old boy from Bradford has been shot dead while on holiday with his family in Pakistan

BBC News:

Humza Nisar, a pupil at St Philip's Primary School in Girlington was on a three-week holiday with his family in Mirpur when he died.

It is believed Humza was killed by a single gunshot as he left his grandfather's house to attend a mosque.

The Foreign Office confirmed it had been informed of the death of a British national on 13 April.

A spokeswoman said the child's family was receiving consular assistance, but she said it could not comment further because the victim was a minor.

Labour MP for Bradford West, Marsha Singh, said he had spoken to Humza's cousin, Salim Malik, about the shooting.

"The family are obviously traumatised and shocked", he said.

"Any murder is a tragedy but when a young child is involved, the feelings are even stronger."

Mr Singh said he had been told by the family a man had been arrested in connection with the shooting.
