A schoolboy raped a younger boy after grabbing him in a mosque in Britain

Leeds Crown Court heard the 14-year-old, who cannot be identified, also robbed his 11-year-old victim of £1.20 in cash before striking him with his belt and subjecting him to the sexual attack in the mosque's washing cubicle area.

The teenager, from Bradford, who admitted rape and robbery, was ordered to be detained for three years yesterday and to register indefinitely as a sex offender on his release.

Sentencing him Mr Justice Grigson said: "You attacked an 11-year-old boy, you searched him, you stole his money, you struck him with his belt and then you raped him."

"That behaviour is so seriously bad that only a custodial sentence can be justified."

The judge said although he was still only young, having read a pre-sentence report he was satisfied the teenager presented a high risk of reoffending and lacked remorse.
