A Jamaican gang-rapist has been jailed in London

icSouthLondon:

AN ILLEGAL immigrant who preyed on drunk women in nightclubs and violently gang-raped one victim with two pals has been locked away indefinitely.

Don Thompson, 29, prowled the dancefloor looking for targets before plying them with drink so he could take them back to his flat. As soon as he let his first victim into the front door in the early hours of June 15, 2002, Thompson and two waiting friends attacked the terrified woman. "They hit and slapped her and threatened her before gang-raping her. It was extremely violent," said Louis Mably, prosecuting.

The men took turns to rape the woman before a fourth man dragged her out of the flat to take her to another address.

On the way there, the woman managed to escape.

A few weeks later Thompson found another woman drinking at an Elephant & Castle club and charmed her into leaving. He later raped her at his flat in Dulwich. Originally from Jamaica, Thompson - who has severe psychological problems - admitted both rapes when he appeared at the Old Bailey in March.

On Friday, Judge Jonathan van der Werff sent Thompson to the Bracton Centre in Kent, under sections 37 and 41 of the Mental Health Act, 1983.
