Three black men attacked and robbed a gay man in London

Your Local Guardian:

Police in Streatham are appealing for witnesses after the gang attacked the man at around 3am on the common near the wood, stealing his credit cards which were later used to withdraw money from cash machines.

The gang was driven away by a fourth suspect in a white hatchback car.

The victim was treated in hospital and released that night.

As Streatham Common is known to be used by gay men late at night Lambeth police's lesbian gay bisexual and transgender liaison team have been conducting plain clothed patrols in the area to warn them they may be vulnerable to crimes such as robbery.

Any witnesses to the incident should contact Lambeth police on 020 8649 2099.
