Men sentenced for gang rape of 11-Year-Old

Melanie Stout:

Darnell Cheney

Two men were in a Milwaukee County courtroom Wednesday to be sentenced for their involvement in the gang rape of an 11-year-old girl.

Twenty men and boys were accused of taking part in the attack at a home on Milwaukee's north side.

Eighteen-year-old Darnell Cheney was sentenced first. Prosecutors recommended he get anywhere from 7-to-9 years. Instead, Judge Jeffery Wagner sentenced him to 15 years behind bars.

His mother burst into tears and moans. The defendant cursed as deputies escorted him out of the courtroom.

Forty-year-old Freeman Gurley was sentenced next. He's the oldest suspect in this case. His defense attorney claimed Gurley thought the 11-year-old girl was older and willing participant.

A judge didn't buy that excuse and sentenced him to 25 years behind bars.

Two more sentenced in sexual assault of 11-year-old

I just found out about this terrible crime, from somebody i know who live in miluakee,i cannot believe that this could happen!!! i am glad that the young girl came out alive but i know that she will need plenty of counseling in the future and i am praying for her and her family. I also know that the boys who participated in the rape were suprised to know that the young girl that they raped was born with aids so in the long run the people responsible will have to face two charges jail as well as a life with aids so nobody gets away with anything!!!! GOD IS WATCHING !!!
