Social decay in liberal Detroit

In 1950, Detroit was a city of 1.8 million. Today, the population is down to 900,000. Detroit, formerly the nation's 10th largest city, was surpassed by San Jose, Calif.

Liberals, who love "diversity," have managed to make Detroit one of the least diverse cities in America. It is now 85 percent black.

City schools have a 40 percent dropout rate, which doesn't even begin to illustrate the system's failures to provide a basic education.

Drug addiction is rampant.

There is a soaring illiteracy rate.

It's not just whites fleeing the city. Blacks, too, who can afford to move, are following the exodus to suburbs. In Macomb County, the black population grew 85 percent in the last four years. In Oakland County, the black population grew 15 percent, while the white population declined.

About 188 blacks are leaving Detroit every week.

Kurt Metzger, research director of the Center for Urban Studies at Wayne State University, explained the black exodus from America's most liberal city. "They're moving for the same reasons whites did years before, to find better schools, bigger homes and lower taxes," he said.
