A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy has been convicted of civil rights violations for sexually assaulting three women while he was on duty

Gabriel Gonzalez, of Chino Hills, faces life in prison when he is sentenced on May 12.

Prosecutors said Gonzalez raped one woman after stopping her for an alleged traffic violation. He forced another woman to perform oral sex on him after stopping her for jaywalking. He fondled a third woman under the guise of searching her for drugs, prosecutors said.

Gonzalez worked for the sheriff for eight years before he was suspended in 2004.
